Project Life (week 16+17)

Wow, it's been over a month since my last Project Life post. Last weekend I was actually even ahead of time. I was at a scrap marathon at Love2scrap and in 8 hours I caught up on the 6 weeks I was behind on my project and even moved some unused everyday photos to the following week and prepared the spread with journaling cards. That was a first!! I think it also sums up pretty much the timeframe I use on each week, approx. 1-2 hours total including little breaks to eat drink and sort thru my stash.

And week 17, which turned out pretty picture-heavy!

On following blogs

Have you used Google Reader as your way of keeping up with blogs you follow? July 1 marks the end of Google Reader, so what happens then? Guess you can still use the Blogger Reading List if you're using Blogger. Otherwise Bloglovin' is a great replacement, as you can import the blogs you’re following on Google Reader/Google Friend Connect to Bloglovin. And you know how I love little things that save my time :-)

Sign up to Bloglovin with your email and import the blogs you follow to Bloglovin: Go to this page, click on 'Google Reader' and then on 'Import from Google Reader', grant Authentication and you're ready to continue following your favorite blogs.

I get a daily e-mail with updates from my favorite blogs. Love it! I also have an App on my photo so I can browse thru the new blog entries.

Feedly is also a great App for following blogs/sites you signed up for using Google Friend Connect. You can logon with your Google credentials and migrate your subscriptions. Really easy!

And don't forget to still stop by your favorite blogs to leave some love once in a while. Invest a minutes to leave a comment and you're sure to make someones day :-)

Enjoy the journey

This layout was created at a crop-weekend with some talented ladies. We challenged each other to scraplift a lot of layouts and you can see the other interpretations below. I tried the ombre look for the first time (I know, I'm not exactly a first-mover, huh?) and love how the title turned out with just some basic ink. 

Layout with mini album

For this layout I included a mini album with photos. The idea was inspired by eclectic mini albums and the popular file folders by Heidi Swapp.

I had several photos from 2006 and 2011 documenting the growth of my son and his friend. I wanted to include one from each year, but couldn't find a good way to place them on the layout. Actually I wanted to use three photos, and found it impossible to get a well-balanced layout.

Then I came up with the idea to use all photos, but just layered on top of each other. I created tabs for each page, so they would be easy turn over. 

I used washi-tape to attach the pages together and for the photos (couldn't find my glue in the mess on my desk, but tape works perfect as both adhesive and embellishment :-)). The last page is a 4x6 journaling card, which I attached to the layout. 

I will definitely use this idea again in the future. Super easy way to include many photos and still keep the layout clean and simple. 

Love Story

This Instagram photo has been sitting on my desk for a long time, and I've been waiting for the perfect papers to use with it. The Lucky Charm collection by Dear Lizzy was a satisfying match :-)

Happy 2nd birthday

I'm so behind schedule when it comes to photographing my work. And since I also haven't been able to find the time to update the blog, I thought I might look for 'something' on the computer to share. I don't think this layout ever made it to the blog. It's years old, but I stil find it cute. It's the invite for Asbjørn's 2nd birthday and a photo of him from his birthday party. He turns 7 in a few weeks!
